Date-Eri Stole with “Pine Needle” Embellishment
April 5 @ 12:00 pm - April 6 @ 4:30 pm
Instructor: Leiko Uchiyama
Date-Eri is an attached collar for a Kimono, which makes it look as though you are wearing another layer underneath. The inspiration for this project comes from the western fashion mode of Japanese Kimono from late 18th to early 19th century.
In this workshop, we will explore Leiko’s interpretation of this “under collar” style. We will play with the direction of the wool fiber to make an interesting form, one that works with your body shape. “Pine needle” felting will be added as a beautiful embellishment and focal point.
You can also enjoy the color variation of Leiko’s hand-dyed 16 micron and silk mixed materials (optional.
