I grew up in MA and I have always loved arts and crafts. When I retired back in 2008, the first thing I did was take a soap making class at the John C Campbell Folk Art School. I became interested in wool while making soap and discovering a YouTube video on felted soaps. I was hooked! Once I started making felted soaps, I decided to learn needle felting so I could embellish the felted soaps with designs. After that, I became even more infatuated with wool and I started taking classes to learn how to wet felt…first scarves; then purses, and vessels learning how to use different resists. My main passion however, still falls back to needle felting, and I love creating cute animals, insects, birds and gnomes. Right now I’m dabbling a bit in 2 D felting. I am mainly- self taught (by watching videos, reading blogs, enjoying my Pinterest felt addition, and studying my 60 something felting books). I have enjoyed selling my creations on Facebook Marketplace, at an occasional craft show, and by word of mouth. For a time I sold on Etsy, but now I’m thinking of creating my own website. My shop name is Dandelion Fiber Arts and I hope to have a website up sometime this winter.
