Glens Falls

I have spent my life exploring a variety of media but always found myself drawn to paint and textiles. In 2011, I took a hat making workshop with Robin Blakney-Carlson and became hooked on felt. Felting has the immediacy of color related to painting and the sculptural possibilities found in metal and clay. Felting is a medium that will take me the rest of my life to explore.

As an art teacher in the public schools for over 30 years I shared many materials and techniques. Bringing wool into the classroom allowed us to explore the artistic process as well as the history of wool in this country.

In retirement I am continuing my exploration of felt as a craft and as an art form.
