Color has always been my thing. I am a hairstylist by trade, ergo color!

I have been playing with dyeing fiber for about 30 years, starting with tye dye then batik clothing graduating to batik paintings. I took the dye workshops at Pro Chem in Mass. for cotton then later on for wool and silk. I took a workshop in Cornwall UK for the Batik art, what a trip.

I dye most of my own roving. I love the blending of colors that come out of the rainbow dyeing method, not to be mistaken for rainbow colors. Sometimes I make white scarfs and dye them after, makes for interesting designs.

Apparently I was ready for something different when my Aunt Gloria Scannell gave me a felted scarf for my birthday. It was so very beautiful I asked if she would teach me how to make more. What she taught me was nuno felting. It came out so beautiful I just had to make more.

Auntie encouraged me to join the guild stating how I could learn so much more. She is so proud to have one more person to carry on with the art of felting. The Guild members welcomed me with opened arms. Don’t be afraid to join because you are new at felting.
