I am a self taught fiber artist.  I took many oil painting classes at Delaware Valley College in Bucks County, PA. Moving to CT in 2016 has inspired my creativity into the fiber arts.

We acquired quite a bit of wool straight off the sheep, several times.  My husband and I used the fermented suint method of cleaning the wool after skirting the wool. The challenge of keeping the puppy away from the wet wool was an arduous task.  I have spent many hours hand carding and machine carding, along with dying the wool in a crock pot.

My art skills already included silk dying. I also am combining sublimation on polyester fabric which my husband and I have learned to do.  Sublimation is printing on fabric with ink which turns into a gas and becomes part of the permanent fabric. We are also doing printing on cotton and silk fabric.  I have a monthly weekend spot to sell my newest creations.

We are always looking for new and creative ways to incorporate printing on fabric with felting. One of my newest ways is pet memorials.  I print the pet on silk and felt the pet hairs onto the ends of the scarf. My husband is an avid photographer and we print many of his pictures onto art scarves with felted ends.

I love working with this medium. It is so light and easy to work with.  My favorite projects are 2 dimensional and the felting machine makes the process go so quickly.
